Dreams to Reality in the Tirol

12 months ago I stumbled on a picture of a place called Alpbach in an Austrian website. Today I looked over that town and was blown away. What a beautiful valley! and so much better than the pictures on the computer screen. But let's just go back abit, we arrived on Thursday afternoon to find our great apartment, with three bedrooms which was very nice for Keith and me and even Meryl was a little happy because the sheet covered both single beds and she could snuggle over the gap! This problem has been causing her much grief in Austria! We discovered the gondola over the road from our dwelling and with free passes provided by our host we headed up to the top of the mountain. We were pleasantly surprised because the morning weather had been grey and wet to find the clouds breaking and sun peaking through.  Lovely views of Reith and the surrounding area were enjoyed.

As mentioned earlier we went on a gorgeous walk around the Alpbach village and because of  a wrong turn saw views down both valleys, very hard to put the camera down! A 3 hour walk was not enough for us hardy souls, we set off on another 3 hour hike along a spectacular Tiefenbach gorge, even though Glenn was heard to complain "but the French Open is on", however his persuasive wife did the trick yet again! I'm now going to let the pictures tell the rest of the story.
