The Hills are Alive!!

We arrived in Salzburg with Meryl feeling very flat after her dreams came true in the Austrian lakes and she had to face moving on to new adventures. However after a good nights sleep we were raring to go yet again. I (Kathy) had researched the Sound of Music venues and discovered we had already seen some in the area where we had been riding. So we headed off around Salzburg and walked and walked, often wishing we had the bikes! We went around a lake to see the home used as the facade for the Von Trapp family home and later discovered we could have gone the other way, 1/8 of the distance! In the evening we went to the Sound of Music dinner show and Keith performed on the stage in front of thousands! (really only 20 people)

Today we went to Bertesgarten and went on a tour of Eagles Nest. I'm afraid we couldn't see a thing except fog so will have to look at Ian and Rebecca's pictures when we get home to see the view! but we did find it disturbingly interesting.

The tunnel up to Eagles Nest. Note the view behind!
